Tips for Having a Relaxing Summer

The fresh air, the garden vegetables, the fireflies at night…. summer is upon us. Between work commitments, social engagements, family appointments, and the daily grind, it can be easy to miss out on relaxing this time. In fact, sometimes you may just have to schedule relaxation! It happens. It’s important to carve out self-care time and unwind. We’ve put together our top tips for relaxing this summer.

Prioritize

Learn how to say “no” to some social invitations. Schedule “me” time. Get a massage. Sleep in. Meditate daily. Put clean foods in your body. Exercise. You need to take care of yourself before you can take of anyone else. 

Breathe

It sounds silly, but it’s important to learn how to take deep breaths. If you catch yourself having shallow breathing and hunched over, then it’s time to fix that. 

Create a Morning Routine

Set your alarm a little earlier. There’s nothing like waking up before the rest of the world. Make a cup of coffee or tea, grab your warm wool blanket, and take in the peacefulness of an early morning rise. It will help reset your day just right. 

Get Outside

Nature is so healing. Plant a garden, put out a picnic blanket and have lunch on the grass, go for a hike, watch fireflies, curl up under a quality wool blanket and look for shooting stars. Unplug. Just be.

Practice Gratitude

Despite the hustle and bustle and constant flow of technology, we should be grateful for the beautiful world around us. Positivity and visualization are incredibly impactful to one’s overall well-being. Practicing gratitude and compassion is a beautiful way of living.
