Camping and Hiking with your Dog

Bringing your furry friend on your camping adventure can be quite the fun experience for both you and your pupper.  Just be prepared that bringing the dog means that you’ll have to pay close attention to the rules of having a pet at a campsite.  Most likely you will have to keep them on a leash at all times and be sure to have plenty of poop bags to pick up after them!  Be mindful that some hiking trails will not allow dogs at all. If you are hiking or camping during the summer months, be prepared to bring extra water for yourself and for your dog.  Also, be sure to check the temperature of the pavement or paths that you will be taking.  You might want to pack some dog shoes to prevent your dog’s feet from getting torn up on the trails or from getting burned on hot pavement.

Once the tent has been pitched, the sun has set, and the campfire has been lit, grab your warm merino wool blanket and cozy up with your dog. Take a look at the stars or gaze deep into the flickering flames of the fire.  You and your dog alike will enjoy the mammoth size and comfort of the Woolly camp blanket.  Whether you like a solid gray wool blanket or a plaid wool blanket, we’ve got you covered.   Once it’s time to call it a night and head back into the tent, our premium wool blankets are perfect as an additional layer over or under your sleeping bag.  Be sure have multiple wool blankets on hand because your dog will want to snuggle up with a wool blanket too!
